Mercedes-Benz South West Joanne Winter

Meet the team: Jo Winter, Events Specialist

Over the course of the year, Mercedes-Benz South West attends (and hosts) upwards of 100 events across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. From the Royal Cornwall Show, Mercedes Trophy or sports Masterclasses with our ambassadors Peter Trego and Jack Yeandle, we are out at some of the most prestigious, picturesque venues in the South West, with some of the most sought after cars in the world!

Behind the scenes, we have a small team tasked with the job of bringing these events to life. Fundamental in this is our Events Specialist Jo, who, come rain or shine, makes sure that every single event we attend goes off without a hitch.

It’s more than likely that you may already met Jo at one of the many events that have already taken place over the start of the year, but ahead of the Devon County Show, we thought it would be a good idea for you to get to know a little bit more about her!

1. How long have you been working at Mercedes-Benz South West?
I have been with the company for just over a year. I joined the team in February 2017.
2. Where are you from?
Newton Abbot.
3. Favourite Mercedes-Benz model? (old or new)
I have been spoilt with being able to drive a number of beautiful cars at events over the last year, but I have always been drawn to our SUV Range. I love love LOVE the GLE Coupe 63 s – I’m not the only one either; this was such a popular car when we brought it along to Yeovilton Air Day!
4. Most memorable day at work you’ve ever had?
I’ve had a number of memorable days since I joined the events team (mostly in the rain I might add!), but the most memorable would have to be the Dream Car Event I had the pleasure of organising. We visited the beautiful Great Barn in Devon, and it was my first experience of seeing a fleet of AMG cars in all of their glory. It really was a highlight.

Having the opportunity to work with such a world-renowned brand. I also love the satisfaction of being able to get out into the local events happening across the South West and showcasing everyone’s hard work.
6. Any Pets?
Some might say I’m the crazy animal lady here at Mercedes-Benz South West! I have four gorgeous Golden Retrievers, one crazy Sprocker Spaniel and I am now also the proud owner of two 8 week old ginger Kittens, Ronald and Readie. (You can never have too many)
7. Have you always been in the motor trade? What did you do before?
I’ve worked in a number of different areas; from Retail to Estate agent and even as a van driver!
8. How many attempts did it take you to pass your driving test?
I passed first time and with only one minor.
9. What radio station are you listening to when you drive?
Normally Kisstory – Non-Stop Old Skool & Anthems is my favourite.
10. Favourite place to visit in the South West?
I spend a lot of my time walking my lovely puppies up on Dartmoor, washed down with a nice cold cider at the Rugglestone Inn.
