Things to consider when buying a new car

With the rise in popularity of Personal Contract Purchase and lease deals, buying a new car is no longer only accessible for a privileged few; but is it for you?

The twice yearly plate-change represents an ideal moment to start looking at buying a new car; not only for the prestige of owning the latest plate, but also to get the most up to date models available.

Here are a few things to consider when deciding whether or not to purchase a brand new car:

Your driving habits

The best thing you can do when buying a new car is to be honest about your driving habits and to make sure that your new car will work for what you need it for. A two-seater convertible, such as our super-sleek SL Roadster, might be the car you have always dreamed of, but it may not have the space to fit your three Labradors!

Take ten minutes to write down your driving habits. Useful things to consider include: the lengths of your average journey, your hobbies and interests, who is going to be driving the car, how long do you hope to own it for?

Financing your vehicle

There are a number of options when it comes to financing your new vehicle. A PCP (Personal Contract Purchase) agreement is an accessible way to purchase a new car, and offers the flexibility to change your car with your lifestyle. Your only upfront cost is a deposit, based upon how much you have to put down against the purchase of your car.

Purchasing an ex-demonstrator

These vehicles will have one previous owner, the dealership, but as demonstrator vehicles will have very low mileage and a very high specification to highlight the best features for new customers. All of our demonstrators are maintained to the outstanding Mercedes-Benz standards.
