We have an exciting opportunity for an Finance Assistant focusing on the Cashier element of the finance function within our Mercedes Benz Dealership in Exeter. The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday shift dependent on the business needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of accurate information for the Finance team.

Role and Responsibilities

For multiple retail/non-retail sites across the business:

  • Daily banking of funds received & re-distribution as petty cash
  • Dealing with daily banking anomalies/missing payment receipts
  • Daily reconciliation of credit card payments
  • Casual driver expenses processing & arranging reimbursement to drivers
  • Petty Cash reconciliation
  • Checking all petty cash documentation
  • Preparation of petty cash reimbursements
  • BACS reports/coding of receipts received via bank account
  • Regular reporting throughout the day of bank deposits received for vehicles
  • Informing the Sales ledger of cash sales receipts
  • Informing the Sales Ledger of debtor payments received
  • eCommerce – logging into various eCommerce sites to download payment details
  • Resolving unallocated payments/receipts with the wider business
  • Assisting with the daily bank reconciliation as required/holiday cover

Assisting the wider Finance team with other duties such as:

  • Opening and sorting the post
  • Monitoring the Accounts email inbox
  • Posting of ‘invoices/charges to the purchase ledger for:
  • Credit card receipts
  • Petty cash costs
  • Drivers’ expenses
  • Other costs/invoices
  • Other work as work as required


£18,000 – £22,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

About you

  • Previous experience within the Motor industry
  • Good numerical and administrative skills
  • Competent level of computer skills
  • Good telephone and interpersonal skills
