Job Scope:

  • Responsible for the Sales & Aftersales departments for the Mercedes-Benz & smart franchises
  • KPI’s – sales, profit, stock  targets & composite
  • Financial –  managing agreed budgets/costs

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Promotes the Mercedes-Benz culture of quality and excellence for self and team
  • Manages the sales and aftersales operation in line with the Company and Mercedes- Benz standards and processes
  • Monitors sales progress and takes action to meet targets agreed in the business plan
  • Delivers vehicle sales, service and parts sales
  • Controls costs and maximises profit margins to meet business targets
  • In conjunction with the Groups Communication Manager, formulates and implements marketing plans for the business
  • Analyses current procedures and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Communicates and influences colleagues across all business areas
  • Initiates meetings to drive sales and generate ideas/solutions from the team
  • Communicates and develops strong personal relationships with customers to maintain their continued loyalty
  • Encourages the team to build strong relationships with customers to maintain their continued loyalty
  • Evaluates customer feedback and ensures the team responds accordingly
  • Consults with customers to establish their needs to deliver a high level of service
  • Reviews customer satisfaction and implements improvements through the team
  • Ensures the showroom and all areas are presented to the highest standard
  • Manages resource allocation to optimise seasonal and promotional peaks
  • Maximises the use of all advertising and point of sale material
  • Ensures the sales and aftersales teams have full knowledge and understanding of product, promotional and marketing activities
  • Provides training and support to the teams to improve product knowledge and competitor awareness to increase sales and aftersales opportunities
  • Develops the capabilities of individuals/team through the performance management process providing coaching/training
  • Ensures all areas of Health & Safety operate effectively and within the requirements of the law
  • Builds good relationships with manufacturers, professional bodies, suppliers and statutory representatives
  • Ensures all capital outlay is authorised by their line manager or a director
