Our business employs 560 staff who are based across 9 sites throughout the South West, which includes our 4 dealerships which are based at Exeter, Taunton, Plymouth and Truro.

We are currently looking for a Vehicle Preparation Co-ordinator at our site in Plymouth. The working hours for this role are from Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30. Within this role the successful candidate will be overseeing vehicle logistics, responsible for the booking in of new and used vehicle stocks and photographing vehicles for advertising and uploading on to the website where necessary.


  • Communicates the Mercedes-Benz culture of quality and excellence
  • To check stock and sold vehicles arrive within the guidelines set by the vehicle suppliers and claims made where possible for costs incurred unnecessarily
  • Ensure new and used stock and sold vehicles are mechanically and cosmetically prepared to advertising standards in line with the KPI’s set and are ready for sale or delivery
  • Inspect all vehicles, checks for damage and missing items, informing the sales manager of any issues
  • Vehicles tagged, labelled and details entered on to the system including preparation lines
  • Photograph vehicles and upload photos onto website where necessary
  • Liaise with internal and external preparation suppliers to ensure stock is prepared for sale to enable improved stock turn and increased vehicle sales
  • Ensures security at the compound is maintained and regularly checked
  • Provides assistance to the sales team as required
  • Plans and organises the work flow operation in line with the business and Mercedes-Benz standards and processes
  • Ensures efficiency and implements effective process’s to maximise productivity
  • Ensures allocated work is correctly identified and that accurate information is passed to the workshop
  • Allocates workload subject to availability
  • Liaises with relevant departments across the business
  • Manages the standard and quality of vehicle preparation
  • Identifies training and development needs for self as part of the performance management process
  • Ensures all areas of Health & Safety operate effectively and within the requirements of the law
  • Builds good relationships with manufacturers, professional bodies, suppliers and statutory representatives
  • Ensures all capital outlay is approved by their line manager or a director


  • Previous experienced gained in the automotive industry would be advantageous but not essential
  • An understanding of vehicle preparation standards
  • An understanding of sales merchandising
  • Communication, organisation and planning skills and a flexible approach to working is required
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Competent level of computer skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
