Watch the 2019 finalists compete in the National Final at St Andrews

“Last year I was contacted by Mercedes to see if I wanted to be entered into the draw to play in the MercedesTrophy and it was the best thing that I could have ever done. I never win anything in a draw, but this time I got lucky and was picked to play in the first qualifying round at Oake Manor. A well organised day and not a bad round saw me qualify for the area final at St Mellion. Two lovely Courses and two well organised days, though they could not have prepared me for what was to come…”

MercedesTrophy golfers of 2019

Hear from previous contestants:

“My first experience of the Mercedes trophy was through the local qualifiers and I wasn’t really sure what to expect as it being my first experience of a major amateur golf competition. I couldn’t really complain as everyone was really friendly and the set up was brilliant! “

– Jack Greenslade, Woodbury Park Golf Club

“The MercedesTrophy competition has been an amazing experience. It has allowed me to play golf on courses under tournament conditions that I would otherwise not have had the opportunity to do. Away from the golf, the hospitality laid on by Mercedes has been overwhelmingly generous.”

– James Macey, Oake Manor Golf Club

James went on to represent Team UK at the World Finals in Stuttgart in 2016 – read his story here.

“The whole Mercedes Trophy experience was brilliant, progressing through each round to the National Final at ‘The Home of Golf’. For me, exceeding all expectations in finishing as Net A Category Individual Winner and qualifying for the Mercedes Trophy World Final was just fantastic!”

– Alan Poole, St. Mellion Golf Club
