Established in 1989, The MercedesTrophy is a worldwide amateur golf tournament that has earned international recognition on the competitive golfing calendar. Each year over 60,000 players from over 60 countries take part and this year you could be one of them.

MercedesTrophy World Final 2017 in Stuttgart

Mercedes-Benz South West are proud to support the competition and are now calling on local golfers to register their interest in taking part. If successful, you will be invited to compete at local, regional and national events before qualifying to represent the UK at the World Finals in Stuttgart.

The all-expenses-paid tournament is open to anyone who is a member of a recognised golf club and who holds an active competition handicap.

There are two ways to gain a place in the MercedesTrophy Tournament. The first is to enter one of the many Club Qualifiers taking place across the South West this Spring (read on), the second is through registering for our tournament ballot.

MercedesTrophy Competition

The MercedesTrophy tournament is competed in three handicap categories throughout (0-10, 11-18 and 19+). The winners from each category will progress to the next round of the tournament as detailed above.

However, only current Mercedes-Benz owners are eligible to progress to the National Final and onwards – for anyone else, their journey will end at the National Final Qualifier regardless of their performance on the day.

Taunton Golfer James Macey went on to represent Team UK at the World Finals of the 2016 competition – read his story here.

MercedesTrophy Qualifiers

Secure your place in MercedesTrophy 2018.

There are a number of ways for you to be in with a chance of competing in MercedesTrophy 2018.

You could enter one of the listed Club Qualifiers taking place across the South West over the coming months. In addition to these qualifiers, we will hold an independent ballot for anyone who has registered their interest with us. Registration forms can be found online, at all of our local dealerships and at participating golf clubs.

Registration closes on 19.05.18 and successful applicants will be notified within one week of this date.

Please note: Club Qualifier competitors are also encouraged to register for the ballot as this ensures an additional opportunity to secure a place if unsuccessful on competition day.

MercedesTrophy 2017

Hear from previous contestants:

“The MercedesTrophy competition has been an amazing experience. It has allowed me to play golf on courses under tournament conditions that I would otherwise not have had the opportunity to do. Away from the golf, the hospitality laid on by Mercedes has been overwhelmingly generous.”

– James Macey, Oake Manor Golf Club

“This was my first experience of the MercedesTrophy, from local qualifying to St Georges Hill Golf Club in Surrey, it has been 5 star all the way – well done Mercedes-Benz South West.”

– Graham Ruth – Tavistock Golf Club.

“St Georges Hill was amazing and the 2 nights away were unbelievable – Mercedes-Benz really did look after us well. I enjoyed every moment of the competition from the local qualifier, retailer event to the Market area final, and every step went without a single hitch. Thank you again and I will be trying everything I can to qualify again next year.”

– Leigh Jarrett – Wrangaton Golf Club
