Treat your Air Con to an Antibacterial Deep Clean
After a summer of record-breaking temperatures and repeated heatwaves across the UK, many of us have been relying on our vehicle's air conditioning more than ever. In fact, 2026 has already seen several significant heatwaves and some of the highest temperatures ever recorded during May, June and July, making air conditioning an essential part of comfortable motoring.
But while your air conditioning system works hard to keep the cabin cool, it can also become a breeding ground for bacteria, mould and unpleasant odours over time.
Why Does Air Conditioning Need Cleaning?
Every time your air conditioning system operates, moisture can build within the system's components. Over time, this damp environment can encourage the growth of bacteria and fungi, which may lead to musty smells when the system is switched on.
If you've noticed an unpleasant odour coming from your vents, reduced airflow, or simply want to ensure the air circulating inside your vehicle remains as fresh as possible, an antibacterial air conditioning treatment can help.
The Benefits of an Antibacterial Air Conditioning Clean
An antibacterial deep clean is designed to eliminate bacteria and other microorganisms that can accumulate within your air conditioning system. Benefits include:
- Fresher, cleaner-smelling air inside the cabin
- Removal of bacteria and microbes from the ventilation system
- Improved cabin comfort for drivers and passengers
- A more pleasant driving experience, particularly during warmer months
- Support for maintaining the overall effectiveness of your air conditioning system
Stay Comfortable During Every Journey
Following an exceptionally hot summer, your vehicle's air conditioning system has likely been working harder than usual. With warm weather becoming an increasingly common feature of UK summers, ensuring your air conditioning system is clean and operating efficiently can help keep you comfortable whatever the weather.
Whether you're planning a staycation, commuting to work or heading off on a long-distance adventure, clean, cool air can make all the difference.
How does the antibacterial deep clean work?
Our Mercedes-Benz specialist Technicians will carry out your Antibacterial Deep Clean. To remove all the contamination inside your vehicle we recommend an air conditioning antibacterial deep clean two-part service. The first part of the service involves replacing your existing pollen filter housing, then a deep decontamination clean of the evaporator is carried out.
The second part of the service involves sanitisation of the pollen filter housing and the neighbouring air ducts will be sprayed intensely for a thorough deep clean. The evaporators in your air conditioning system are also sanitised with a powerful pressure spray gun to ensure rapid removal of any contamination and deposits within the system.
