Meet the Team: Georgina Cross, Customer Service Team Leader at Mercedes-Benz South West

What’s your role at Mercedes-Benz Southwest and what does a typical day look like for you?

I am the Team Leader for the Customer Service Department. Typical day involves organising shifts, monitoring stats pages and our host module call log, dealing with any service plan queries, PowerPoints, group meetings, complaints, any issues amongst the team and once a month doing payroll. 

How long have you been with the company, and what drew you to work here?

I have worked here since January 2022. I love cars but my background has always previously been NHS. I just fancied a change and thought I would quite like to work for a super prestige brand!

What’s your favourite thing about working at Mercedes-Benz Southwest?

The people across all 5 sites are lovely. Everyone is so friendly and it’s a very relaxed vibe. 

What's one project or achievement you're particularly proud of?

I am extremely proud that I pushed myself to go for the managerial role within my department. I didn’t think I was cut out for it, but so far so good! It has its challenges obviously, but so far, it’s been great. 

If you could switch roles with anyone else in the company for a day, who would it be and why?

I would probably opt for being an STM for the day. I like to think my customer service skills are still up to scratch. I do sometimes miss being customer facing and dealing with the public. I love to chat and sell, and solving a problem/getting a job done is very rewarding. 

If your team had a mascot, what would it be?

Obviously, a dog or a chicken!! 

What’s your go-to song for driving?

Wagon Wheel – Darius Rucker (I love country music!) 

What’s your guilty pleasure playlist or TV show?

I love Yellowstone & Peaky Builders!

Which Mercedes-Benz model would you be and why?

G -Wagon. A lot of people call me G so it’s meant to be! And because they are loud, rugged and beastly!

What do you like to do when you're not at work?

Dog walks, family time, hockey and badminton!

What’s a fun fact your colleagues might not know about you?

I used to play the clarinet.

Buying more chickens….

If you could have dinner with any three people (dead or alive), who would you choose?

Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Paul O’Grady and David Attenborough. 

Where would be your dream holiday destination?

The Maldives or Sri Lanka for a safari!
