Meet the Team: Jamie Proudfoot

It’s time for our next Meet the Team instalment, and this time we’re heading up to Mercedes-Benz of Exeter to introduce you to our dedicated Workshop Controller, Jamie. Born and raised in Devon, Jamie has been an integral part of the Mercedes‑Benz South West family for nearly five years.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Ivybridge and now live in Chudleigh.

How long have you been working at Mercedes-Benz South West?

This year it will be 5 years, the longest I’ve stayed in one place by a long way!

What is your favourite Mercedes-Benz model? (Old or new!)

It has to be the C-Class 204 C63, specifically estate and edition 507 if we want to get really nerdy. The perfect blend of V8 goodness and everyday practicality.

Most memorable day at work?

Probably the day I drove an SLS, I doubt I’ll do that again anytime soon!

Favourite part of the job?

Being in and around the cars/workshop all day everyday, anyone that knows me will know I live and breathe for anything with an engine.

What’s your favourite animal?

Dogs. Only dogs. My dog.

Where is your favourite place to visit in the South West?

Mamhead Forest, the place I got down on one knee!

What’s your go-to song or radio station to listen to in the car?

Don’t Wait Run Fast – MGK

How many attempts did it take you to pass your driving test?

I Passed first time!

What’s your favourite film?

Any of the Transformers films! I will never say no to watching any of them

What’s at the top of your bucket list?

I’d love to do a tour of America in a big RV, with a motorbike in tow!

What would be your karaoke song?

All too well (10-minute version) by Taylor Swift!

Tipple of choice?

Fruit Cider – of any kind

First concert you ever went to?

The 1975 at Westpoint Arena in 2018, I was late to the hype of concerts!

What are you most looking forward to?

Taking my 2 young daughters on a plane for the first time next month!
