What’s your role at Mercedes-Benz South West and what does a typical day look like for you?

I’m the Finance Manager for City West Country, the parent company for Mercedes-Benz South West, so no two days are ever the same! One moment I might be deep in reconciliations or budgets, the next I’m helping colleagues, customers or suppliers with their queries, all while keeping our busy finance team running smoothly. It’s a fast-paced office with a high volume of work, never a dull moment and always something to keep me on my toes!

How long have you been with the company, and what drew you to work here?

I’ve been with the company just over 2 years. Coming from a background in education, I was excited by the challenge of moving into a completely new industry and learning something different – and it’s definitely lived up to expectations!

What’s your favourite thing about working at Mercedes-Benz South West?

Definitely the people, I’m lucky to work alongside such supportive and friendly colleagues across the business, who make even the busiest days enjoyable.

What's one project or achievement you're particularly proud of?

I’m proud of being promoted to Finance Manager. It’s a great feeling to see hard work and growth recognised, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of such an amazing team around me.

If you could switch roles with anyone else in the company for a day, who would it be and why?

I’d switch roles with someone in Sales Admin. They do an incredible job that often goes unnoticed, and it would be fascinating to see the business from a sales perspective and understand the processes from their side of things.

If your team had a mascot, what would it be?

If our team had a mascot, it would be Bert the donkey, our charity of the year! He’s a fun reminder of the good we can do together while we tackle busy days in the office

What’s your go-to song for driving?

I usually go with whatever’s on the radio, I love music that brings back memories, so my choice depends on the mood and the nostalgia it sparks!

What’s your guilty pleasure film or TV show?

I have a pretty short attention span, so films rarely hold me! I tend to go for reality TV shows I can dip in and out of, a bit of drama, a bit of fun, and no commitment required.

Which Mercedes-Benz model would you be and why?

I’ll admit, I’m no car expert, I’d pick a Mercedes simply because I like the look of it! Style over specs, every time.

What do you like to do when you're not at work?

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family – whether it’s catching up over meals, enjoying a good laugh together, or just making the most of our time whenever we can.

What’s a fun fact your colleagues might not know about you?

I held my wedding reception in a zoo! Definitely a day full of surprises and memories.”

Have you got a hidden talent?

Hidden talent? Not really, I’m an introvert at heart, so I prefer to stay out of the spotlight.

If you could have dinner with any three people (dead or alive), who would you choose?

I’d love to have dinner with Volodymyr Zelensky, Helen Mirren, and Judi Dench. A mix of courage, wit, and brilliance, I’m sure the conversation would be unforgettable!

Where would be your dream holiday destination?

I haven’t been yet, but my dream holiday would be Italy, I’d love to explore the cities, enjoy the food, and soak up the culture and scenery
