Meet the Team: Richard Davis, Service Manager

Richard Davis, our Service Manager for the Plymouth dealership, is responsible for managing a busy and successful Servicing department, looking after our customers and their cars.

Tell us about yourself Richard: I was born in Plymouth but spent most of my adult working life living in the Newton Abbot area, I moved to Totnes late last year. I have two sons, Ben and Oli. I enjoy a good walk and recently completed a 23 mile walk in one day; there’s nothing better than getting out in the fresh air.

How long have you been working at Mercedes-Benz South West? I’ve been with the company 18 years in December, but with the brand for 40 years.

Where are you from? Plymouth.

Favourite Mercedes-Benz model? New – S63 cab, it just looks good. Old – 280SL pagoda, beautiful.

Favourite part of the job? Working with a good team of people.

Do you have any pets? Yes a dog called Bagel, an 11 year old long haired Jack Russel cross, he’s great.

Have you always been in the motor trade? Yes, straight from school I managed to get an apprenticeship with the Mercedes-Benz dealer at the time in Plymouth.

Best holiday you’ve ever been on? This year to Whistler, Canada.

What radio station are you listening to when you drive? Radio 2/Virgin Radio.

Favourite place to visit in the South West? Anywhere on the coast of Devon and Cornwall – walking of course, we have superb scenery.

Favourite TV Show to binge watch? Big Little Lies.

Tipple of choice? Red Wine.

What would be your Karaoke song? Bryan Adams – Summer of 69 (as long as you put your fingers in your ears – I’m a bit tone deaf!)

What was the first concert you ever went to? Scorpions, 1982 at the Cornish Coliseum.

If the world ends tomorrow, what would you choose as your last meal? Liver & onions with bacon.

What are you most looking forward to this year? Settling in to our new home with my partner.
