The Best Spots to Pick Your Own Pumpkins in the South West this October

14 Oct 2025

It’s time to pull on our scary costumes, pick our favourite pumpkins and enjoy several pumpkin spiced lattes- it’s the scariest and spookiest time of the year! With the kids off school, we’ve put together some of the best Halloween activities for the whole family to enjoy across the South West this October half-term.

Somerset

Thurloxton Farm – Taunton, Somerset

With two and a half acres of pumpkin littered fields, you can have your pick of the bunch at Thurloxton Farm. For some seriously organised fun, tickets to their event are available to pre-book via their website with time slots available from the 25th of October. Tickets include a pumpkin of any size from their field, a “spooky walk”, additional family-friendly fun games and their very own carving barn with carving tools. The farm also uses the pumpkin pulp as compost, so nothing goes to waste.

If you have friends and/or grandparents who would like to join the Halloween shenanigans but avoid the messy pumpkin picking and carving, accompanying tickets can be purchased via their website,  (but this does not include a pumpkin).
